In 1992, Tonya graduated as an RN from State College of Florida and accepted a position on a medical-surgical unit at SMH. She transferred to the Pre-op Services Department 17 years ago. She returned to school and obtained her BSN in December 2014.
In her current position as the Pre-op Resource Rounding Nurse, her responsibilities include, reviewing each pre-op patient medical record and making sure all of the pre-op tests/procedures are done. She also contacts the physicians to address any concerns regarding their disease processes or issues with their consents.
