You could see she genuinely cared and didn’t want to leave until she was sure the patient was okay.
She truly went above and beyond in the most compassionate and selfless way. When a patient arrived at the main campus entrance, waiting for her sister who was parking the car, she immediately stepped in to help. Without hesitation, she got the patient a wheelchair, gently brought her over to the ER triage desk, and sat with her the entire time, never leaving her side until her sister arrived. She not only helped the patient feel safe and comfortable in the wheelchair, but she also took the time to teach the sister how to properly assist her in and out of it. Even though it took at least 30 minutes of her time, she was fully present the whole way through. She was incredibly kind and warm, not only to the patient but also to our registration staff. You could see she genuinely cared and didn’t want to leave until she was sure the patient was okay. Watching her in action was truly inspiring and gave me a new perspective on how to help our patients in different ways.
