February 2025 Honoree
Torey D Hudelson, RN
I was admitted to the VA Hospital and placed on the 6th floor due to a blood clot in my lung. That night, I began experiencing severe pain that made me shake so badly that I grabbed the handrail and started jerking on the bed. A nurse came in, I think I may have scared her, but she calmed me down, went to get medication, and stayed with me for a while. I know she had other patients to care for, but she kept coming back to check on me. I call that Advocacy! The nurse’s name was Torey Hudelson, she went beyond the call of duty! Thank you, Torey, for taking care of this old Vietnam Vet – especially since people didn’t care for us much when we came home from the war.
Thank you, Torey D, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
