Tori's knowledge and passion were evident when she floated from room to room soothing and caring for every baby like they were the most important person in the NICU, and she did it all with a smile and cheerful attitude.
From the minute Tori took her shift as our daughter’s night nurse, I was thankful for her care. It is so clear that she loves her job and all the babies and families she cares for. As brand new parents, I can’t express how reassuring it is when you come up with a plan, such as how to move forward with a new breastfeeding or pumping schedule, and the nurse says, “I think that’s a great plan.” Tori was always supportive of anything we wanted to try or even when we said we were tired and wanted to skip the next feeding to rest. Every decision we made for our daughter felt like the right one when Tori was on shift. And my favorite thing about her was that if we seemed unsure (again – brand new parents!) or asked for her advice, she offered it freely rather than letting us struggle on our own. And when we asked for her expertise on something as tiny as how to dress a baby, she shared her expertise with a smile and without judgment. Her knowledge and passion were evident when she floated from room to room soothing and caring for every baby like they were the most important person in the NICU, and she did it all with a smile and cheerful attitude. Finally, we appreciated how much she included us in everything. My husband could ask her questions about our daughter’s meds and she would find the answers for him. When we would come in for a feeding, she would update us on what happened while we were away, even if it was only a couple of hours. If I wasn’t sleep deprived, I could have written a more elegant recommendation; but please know that Tori exemplifies the Core Values of Providence and that she represents the best of what Providence has to offer in terms of care. I’m so thankful we experienced her level of care, if only for two nights!
