I am a "frequent flyer" at hospitals. I say that because I have extensive patient/hospital experience. I feel like Toshika exemplifies what's possible in nursing. Toshika was incredibly caring and considerate, taking into account my experience and personal needs and accommodating care to support that. She also explained treatments, floor policy, and what needed to happen thoroughly and compassionately. She always made sure that I knew her hands were washed/sanitized so that there was never a question. She asked if I was ok with her using my condition as a teaching opportunity for another care giver. I said no problem and so, got to witness her in teaching mode as well and saw that she was thorough and passionate about this as well. I felt confident and safe with Toshika as my nurse. I trusted her skill and competency and was glad to have her assigned to me. I think the patients and staff are lucky to have Toshika on the team. She is a stellar nurse.
