Tracey had a patient who was here visiting the Everglades and doing some bird watching. This man, who was traveling alone, had fallen at the hotel where he was staying and was brought to the hospital. He was very concerned about his belongings, including his cell phone charger, and he had no one to retrieve them. Amazingly, Tracey was going to go to the hotel to get this patient his belongings but was advised for legal reasons that she shouldn't go by herself. Tracey called the hotel, the police, and ultimately arranged for a courier to bring the patient his belongings to him at the hospital.
Another story that exemplifies Tracey's extraordinary compassion for her patients is when she arranged for a patient's dog to go to a shelter while they were hospitalized because they didn't have anyone to care for their dog at home. Tracey is an extraordinary nurse and I am incredibly proud to work with her.
