I nominate nurse Tracy for The DAISY Award for the following reasons: first of all, I acknowledge and admire ALL medical professionals who are working to serve the community at this time. Having a medically complex child has allowed us to see a wide array of people and personalities in a hospital setting. Tracy stands out from the rest of her kind and compassionate disposition. We are always greeted with a smile. She remains professional and calm under any circumstances. She's thorough and consistent. She picks up on things that might otherwise go unnoticed. She is a true team player and offers to troubleshoot in areas that she may be unfamiliar with. I've seen her offer students hands-on experience to allow them to grow in their skills and comfort level. She is very empathetic in emotionally difficult situations. She has made what could have been a difficult situation (hospitalization) seem more enjoyable simply by being her true and wonderful self. She embodies an extraordinary person, working during extraordinary times.
