She is a skilled nurse but more importantly, she is a compassionate nurse. Traci tries to connect personally with each family and works diligently to make their appointment a positive experience.
Traci has been with our department for just over one year but has been a driving force in helping to establish our new Infant Breathing Program clinic for premature infants. Traci is an exceptional nurse and goes above and beyond when it comes to our patients/families, our clinic staff, and all her colleagues. Starting a new program/new clinic is not an easy task. So many details to work out, systems to learn, and schedules to juggle. Traci has worked tirelessly to mesh schedules of providers, social work, dietitian, speech therapy, respiratory therapy, and physical therapy to accommodate families and enable them to have one-stop visit that encompasses many of the specialty services they need. She is a skilled nurse but more importantly, she is a compassionate nurse. Traci tries to connect personally with each family and works diligently to make their appointment a positive experience. Traci is always positive and upbeat and always goes the extra step to do the little things that make the patients and families feel valued. She always has a positive attitude and is the utmost professional in all interactions. We have been able to double our planned patient numbers in the first year due to her dedication and commitment to our IU Health values, her determination, and her never-ending energy! She took on a new role, a new program in its infancy, and a new practice setting all during a pandemic and has been able to keep her sense of humor and spread a lot of joy to our patients and our team. We are lucky to have her on our team! She is also a great team member for all the other nurses in our department. She is always the first to volunteer to help anyone in need, put together a care package for a sick colleague or give a little pick me up to someone having a difficult time. We are lucky to have her on our team!
