Traci stayed calm and knew exactly what to do.
Traci, a nurse in the ICU, stands out among all the competent and friendly staff at Banner Desert. Our first meeting began as she entered the room with a huge smile and a confident manner. Understandable explanations were given each time a medication or some procedure was required. Traci listened when questions were asked, and she always had an answer. Her positive attitude and friendliness made me try harder to do what was needed to get better faster.
At one point, I rang for Traci due to nausea and cramping stomach pains and she immediately handed me a vomit bag and moved my bed into a sitting position. Things got worse as my blood pressure started dropping. Hearing Traci’s calm voice getting staff into the room helped keep me from fainting. Five or six team members were working over me when I opened my eyes and started to recover. Vasovagal syncope was the diagnosis. Traci stayed calm and knew exactly what to do and got the right people in the room to help.
Later that same afternoon, Traci bounced into the room announcing we were having a “spa” day. She put a warm shower cap on my head and gave me a wonderful head massage and shampoo. The warm water and clean smell were so soothing. Traci really knew how to lift my spirits! Traci is my shining star. Her personality and skills are perfect for an ICU nurse. I am very thankful for her care and concern.
