February 2023 Honoree
Traci Polansky, RN
When I came into the hospital for my induction, it was the night before my birthday. Things quickly became complicated when my baby started crashing with the first round of medication. Traci did not leave my room the entire night until her shift ended. She came back the next night with an ice cream birthday cake, hoping I would have my baby in my arms; however, she came into a critical situation. My baby was stuck and crashing. Traci sat under my bed, holding a monitor on my baby while I pushed for several hours. She continued to ensure my baby was ok by having me move positions to make sure she was maintaining good stats. When the time came to have the emergency C-section, she held my hand from the moment the call was made until my husband was present where she then went into full-out save mode to make sure that my baby maintained good stats when she arrived. She, along with the doctor, completed a double resuscitation to keep my daughter going. Traci went above and beyond the call of duty for me to make sure that I fully understood everything that was happening and to make sure that my baby was going to make it through everything just fine!
Thank you, Traci, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
