Tracie Fox, RN
She was our nurse after I delivered my third baby. She spent time with my husband and me in our room, sharing stories about our lives and the joys and hardships of having children and navigating all the challenges of raising a family. She took exceptional care of me and our baby.
But what affected me most, though, was that a few weeks later she checked on me at home. She heard I was struggling from another coworker. After she completed her night shift, she brought coffee to my house, made sure I was okay, and took my older daughter to school for me.
After she left my house, I sat down and cried. I was touched by her kindness. She knew exactly what I needed in that moment, helping even when I hadn't asked for help or knew how to ask for help.
When she should have been going home to sleep and care for her own children, she instead took the time to make sure I was cared for first. That exemplifies her compassion, empathy, selflessness, and generosity as a nurse and as a person. She is most deserving!
