Over the years, Tracie has served as a Team Leader, PQE member, House Supervisor, preceptor and mentor. Through these various roles she consistently demonstrates the qualities of what nursing is for SLEH. She is able to connect with patients and doesn't shy away from difficult discussions or situations.
Tracie was nominated by a patient's wife who recognized her for her engagement and for exceeding the 5 core values. The wife identified herself as a seasoned RN nearing 50 years of experience and stressed how much she appreciated Tracie being able to motivate her husband to participate in his plan of care, ensuring he was safe and compliant with the treatment he required to get well and go home. The wife/nurse valued Tracie's constant rounding and encouragement with her husband and noted that she made it a "fun" environment. The patient's wife noted a powerful statement in recognizing Tracie: "To have the technology and still faithfully honor the fundamentals of nursing IS Saint Luke's!"
