I came from out of state as an advocate for my brother. I am his only immediate family member here. After caring for my brother only one time Tracie became my immediate family by listening and suggesting things to see us through this hospitalization. At one point he appeared he was ready to give up and refuse treatment; he is not at end of life stage. I became extremely upset. Tracie assured me that the staff would not let him give up. She made me aware of the depression that can set in for a patient and I needed this.
Tracie came twice to shave him. When caring for him, she took extra care to make sure he was clean and comfortable. Tracie would make a quick stop by to see how we were doing and offer hugs to me. She even took the time to draw me a map to help me get somewhere. In my opinion, Tracie is an exemplary nurse. We are fortunate that she touched our lives.
