Tracy has been in the Women's clinic for three years. Tracy consistently goes above and beyond for our women veterans. Just today I was reminded again of her excellence by two patients. The first patient was new to us for about a year ago. She is a very private individual and did not want to interact with any staff except her PCPC. I advised the patient that she would need to interact with my staff for me to care for her. This veteran sent many angry secured messages and Tracy answered them with kindness. She worked with the veteran, calling her to follow up on health issues. When the veteran was diagnosed with cancer recently, Tracy volunteered to go to the specialist appointments with her.
The second patient came in for a follow up after a cyst surgery; she has initially presented two months ago in severe pain due to the cyst. I placed a surgery consult. Tracy called the surgery clinic, somehow, she got her in for a same-day appointment and even walked her down to the appointment! Today the veteran was happy and thankful.
Last but not least, Tracy started a secure message group "BMI Busters", to encourage our patients to lose weight. She worked with nutrition and Rec Therapy and sent healthy tips to veterans and encouraged them to email her back with their success and challenges. Tracy has signed up several hundred patients who have a total loss of 1550 lbs.
