Tracy Dankanich gave an excellent report to the night shift Nurses, going into detail about which meds were to go in which lines, re-educating precautions for chemo-like drugs, and how to properly administer them. She would prime tubing for these medications and always have everything set up for the next Nurse.

Tracy often had to stay late and finish charting after her own busy shift, but was always sure the next Nurse was completely comfortable before leaving.

As the Hematology/Oncology venture took off in 2018, expanding oncology and chemotherapy services, Tracy embraced every educational opportunity offered. After her month of training at Roswell Oncology Hospital, Tracy asked if there could be shadow time or if she could float to other units to assist in supporting other Nurses on the team, which is not on the PICU floating grid. This spilled over into other PICU Nurses doing the same.

Tracy embodies quality Nursing and is a leader in building and expanding her knowledge and skills, as well as encouraging others to do the same. Tracy also embodies the true purpose of The DAISY Award. She has demonstrated extraordinary clinical skill and compassion.

Thank you, Tracy, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
