Tracy is one of the most caring and compassionate nurses I’ve ever met. She always goes the extra mile to make sure patients are comfortable in their care. Whether that means spending extra time building a relationship and educating, giving them a “spa” level bath to make them feel a little more “normal”; or holding their hand as they pass.

Beyond her dedication to her patients, Tracy strives to give back to the unit and its up-and-coming nurses. She was my and many other nurses on the unit’s preceptor- and I can’t imagine being trained by anyone else. Her knowledge base is incredible and she seeks to create an environment where new hires are able to grow in confidence and critical thinking skills at their pace. Her patience is unmatched and she’s always willing to answer any question or help think through a patient problem with you no matter how long you’ve been off of orientation. She does a wonderful job of creating a supportive and non-intimidating environment for mentees to ensure they have plenty of time to grasp concepts while still challenging them to reach their full potential as a competent and confident ICU nurse.

She’s everything a new nurse could ask for in a preceptor and coworker. She’s the nurse I would want to take care of me or my family. And she is the kind of nurse I hope to grow into. Tracy brings such a wonderful energy and skill set to the unit, I really can’t imagine the CICU without her. There is none more worthy of this honor than her.
