Tracy navigates the complexities with compassion and maintains the physical and emotional dignity of everyone involved. Tracy maintains her integrity by not withholding difficult information from the family even when she witnesses signs of decline. Tracy chooses her vocabulary expertly as she shares reality without killing hope. She defers to the family in a manner that is respectful, allowing them to navigate this difficult time without bearing the burden of being responsible for the inevitable outcome.

Tracy watches and listens when other caregivers are responsible for the patient’s meds. Tracy uses the experiences of others to improve her own technique. She does her work with confidence and a healthy dose of humility. It seems that Tracy strives to learn, grow, and hone her talents every minute she is here.
