September 2015 Honoree
tracy medina, RN
Tracy was nominated for a DAISY Award for her extraordinary compassion and humanity while caring for a homeless patient this year.
The patient wrote, "She treated me like a real person, rather than a homeless person." She describes how Tracy spent extra time with her, teaching her how to take her medications, and how to care for her wounds in a homeless shelter. "No one has ever been this good to me," the patient wrote. "I wish she could be my nurse every time I come to a hospital."
