I know Tracy Moore, RN is committed because she has dedicated years of her life to Homestead Hospital. Always a patient advocate and family focused; taking the time to reinvent and accommodate family and the patient is her daily routines of care at night. Naturally competent, I guess you have to be to work the night shift. Seasoned, she seems to have a feel for doing things with such ease. That’s why she is the go to expertise person… they call that a resource nurse. A professional at all times, being kind and caring... always approachable by the whole hospital staff if everyone is calling her to stars IVs… firth, fourth, and of course the third floors. I know because I follow her and see her work and the respect her colleagues have for her. Taking time from her busy schedule to help fellow nurses on the night shift. The patients even knew her name from when she started their IVs. Being compassionate is her forte... along with sometimes an extra blanket, a soft touch, a reassuring calm voice, or just fine tuning of the lights to softer. But now I know the level of skills she possesses when I discovered she was the night supervisor starting IVs. The IVs no one else could start. I kept hearing her name, Tracey the night supervisor…I thought it was a new house supervisor. I sought her out, to tell her how much I appreciated her efforts. And then they said, “You know the supervisor on 3 South.” I didn’t make the connection until then. And there she was the whole DAISY package deal. Tracy Moore, call her Charge Nurse, call her Night Supervisor, I call her wonderful.
