No one wants to be in the hospital, even if they are attended to, face to face by residents, attendees, multiple department heads, given nice private rooms and room service on-call. But I can guarantee that no matter how upset you'd be over a hospital stay, if Tracy was assigned to be your nurse, you'd get ready to move in.

She is always in a great mood, always comes in the room with a smile. I can tell I'm not just the person occupying bed #5159 to her, but a person with feelings.

Believe me when I say Sanford is an incredible hospital, full of wonderful doctors, nurses and all other support staff, to stand out so much and shine so bright amidst all that, as Tracy does, is a major accomplishment. Tracy deserves to be recognized for her above and beyond attitude. In my opinion, every nurse should be as sweet, empathetic, kind, efficient and cheerful as Tracy. She is one in a billion.

Tracy has had many comments from staff and patients on her attitude and great care. She was reassigned to another unit and I received the following from them. "We wanted you to know what an excellent job she did. She had (2) complex situations come up both new to her as a new RN; she had never had a patient with a blood transfusion reaction, she was professional and remained positive during her shift. Tracy has also received comments from her patients,

You have encouraged me so very much. You make me feel like I am at home resting and not at the hospital.

Your upbeat and smiling attitude can make my day turn around when I want to give up and self-pity myself.

Your smiling face pushes me to have a positive outlook.
