I just wanted to recognize Tracye Keith-Gay and Suparna for their efforts with helping initiate a transfer of a sick child last evening at the close of business. They both stayed and put great effort into helping with this patient and assisting the doctor and myself.
Tracye was getting ready to clock out when this appointment went more emergent and she stayed until the end. Coming from a unit that required amazing teamwork and collaboration when a patient was sick, I know the importance of anticipating needs and jumping in when duty calls. Both nurses did just that and I wanted to recognize them on their great care. Tracye even walked the patient's older sister, who was very emotional, out to the ambulance continually hugging and loving on her to make it ok. A wonderful sight to see.
