While working in triage, the waiting room began filling up. There were people waiting for 6+ hours. It was terrible. Travis came in and went out to the waiting room and began introducing himself to everyone and loudly yelled, "What's up, waiting room?! We are going to have a good day, don't lose hope!" Everyone started laughing and smiling, and immediately, the mood changed. We actually had several patients approach me and other staff, claiming they were going to leave, but then that tall, skinny nurse came out and made us feel better, so we stayed. Unknowingly, Travis made a dreadful situation better - everyone cheered up and stayed to receive the care/help they truly needed. His positivity and humor carried us through that day.
