Recently, a very ill baby boy was brought to the Emergency Room. Travis rose to the occasion, recognized an unstable heart rhythm, reported it to the neonatologist and worked as the primary nurse alongside the NICU team. Travis left the bedside only to provide special equipment as needed to the team. The baby needed to be flown to Children's Hospital but wasn't stable enough for the flight. The CHOC transport team arrived and helped Travis to stabilize the patient. A very difficult few hours passed and through their efforts, the baby was brought to a stable heart rhythm and improved, making transport possible. All of this occurred with Travis at the center of it all. The doctor overseeing the CHOC transport team contacted me to make sure that it was known how much Travis was appreciated for his knowledge, diligence, and support through a very difficult time. Travis is a true credit to our profession and we are fortunate to have him in our organization.
