Tre discussed the plan of care with the patient and her family and smoothed over the situation.
During a recent workday, I came into work to find a new order written by a float pool RN asking for a Patient to be re-evaluated. The order stated that the Patient was given thin liquids and looked fine. I looked into the patient's chart, and she had been given an MBS 2 days prior. The information on the report included that she had a recent CVA and that silent aspiration was observed. The patient was placed on moderately thick liquids. I was concerned about aspiration and went to ICU to discuss the POC with the RN.

Tre was the Patient's RN and stated that she had the patient on the previous day as well. Tre said that at the end of her shift, she educated the night shift float pool RN on the results of the MBS and provided a thickener for the RN to use. Tre expressed her concerns to management regarding the details of the situation. Tre discussed the plan of care with the patient and her family and smoothed over the situation. Tre is an amazing RN who takes the best care of her patients; she knows the details of her patients, cares for her patients as if they were her family members, advocates for patient care, and is a knowledgeable and dependable RN. This situation is just one of many examples of extraordinary care that Tre provides.
