November 2024 Honoree
Trease Allen, RN
While all of St. John's nurses were competent and great, Trease went above in so many different ways. She was professional and thorough the entire time during our stay. She never made J feel like just another number. J has stage 6 Alzheimer's disease and is confused. She had many "tricks" to help him feel better and solve his needs. At one point, he held his pills in his teeth and couldn't swallow. She was able to teach him a new way to get them down. We were fortunate to have had Trease for three days. Even knowing he had dementia, Trease treated him so personally and compassionately that his sense of humor returned. He knew she was interacting with him on a personal and caring level. Trease was incredibly busy, as all of the nurses were, but it wasn't about the quantity of time she spent with us; it was the quality. Trease left us knowing we had been blessed to have her caring for J. Thank you, Trease!
Thank you, Trease, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
