I have a complicated medical history which has put me in and out of a lot of hospitals over the years. And has given me many experiences with nurses. I was admitted with pancreatitis. Trennea was my nurse. I was in a type of excruciation pain, the likes of which I never knew possible. Trennea was on top of it! Moving quickly and efficiently calling doctors, hunting down approval for pain meds and nausea meds. All the while showing compassion and patience. Her actions and words made it clear that my comfort and wellbeing were her top priority. I have a feeling she does that for all her patients. She was knowledgeable and always willing to take the time to explain and answer questions and never made me feel rushed. She never judged, lectured or scolded. And there are NO words to express how much that means! Never once did she bring up the number of pain meds required to help me with any pain and in today's climate around such things, for those of us who have to be on pain management, that judgment-free compassion is EVERYTHING!! She always had a smile. She has the patience of a Saint! She really is an amazing woman and one heck of a nurse! I was really sad when her week was over. It is not an easy thing to make someone who is sick, scared and in pain feel safe and comforted but that is exactly what she did!! I am very grateful. She also always responded quickly to the call button and NEVER acted like I was putting her out.
