It is my pleasure to recommend Tricia Blake to receive favorable consideration for the DAISY Award. In terms of criteria for this award, Tricia at the very least exceeds all standards and leads the way by example.
After a difficult (medical) experience, which included a night in the ER, I was greeted by Tricia immediately upon arrival to my room. My discomfort was immediately diffused by Tricia with her big smile and a commitment to make the rest of my stay as comfortable as possible. In keeping with promise, she displayed outstanding communication skills to me and my family by making sure that we were informed every step of the way. Every question was dealt with in a professional manner and if she did not know Tricia always got back with an answer.
Too often nurses are not recognized for their difficult but outstanding efforts. The DAISY Award is an excellent means of offsetting this issue. Nurses are truly the most valuable PR resources for hospital and Lahey, Tricia raises the bar for others to follow.
