I could feel the care and the concern for my well-being. It was very soothing, and it gave me another reason to fight for survival!
I was in the hospital for an emergency nephrectomy and bladder surgery due to Stage 4 Renal Cell Carcinoma/Sarcomatoid Kidney Cancer. My wife had to drop me off in the parking lot to go into the hospital for these procedures due to COVID. She or any other family members could not be with me. Not knowing if you’ll ever see your family again is hard enough in itself. My stay turned into kind of a rough one due to complications. So I was in the hospital for a total of approximately thirteen days.

Most of the nurses were very good, but Tricia really stood out. When she took care of me, she talked to me. I could always tell it was from her heart and she truly wanted me to survive! There were times during the shift change when she was briefing the new nurse, (as they thought I was sleeping). I could hear the compassion in her voice during the briefing. I could feel the care and the concern for my well-being. It was very soothing, and it gave me another reason to fight for survival! I really needed that since I didn’t have family with me. I thank God she was the nurse on duty when I was released from the hospital. She was so happy that I recovered as well as I did. And she sincerely wished me luck on my future treatments.

I was given six months to live with my condition. Today, more than two years later, I am cancer free and am now one of the miracles that people talk about. Nurse Tricia was a big part of the miracle!! She is a true DAISY Nurse. Thank you, Tricia

My father, E, receive excellent care during his stay. He subsequently passed away two days after he was discharged at Our House of Murray County. During the shifts that Tricia worked, she encouraged my father to share his stories and boy did he love to share stories. She also made it a point to pin a personal photo and memento of his 30 years at Krueger seed dealer to his whiteboard. It was touching and made us feel like we were part of the "Sanford Family". Thank you, Tricia, for the extra TLC shown for my father during his stay.
