After many tests, my doctors believed a bladder cytology procedure would be best for me. The resulting catheter was extremely painful. Then “my angel” was assigned to my unit. She recognized how much pain I was in and called my doctor to get permission to remove my catheter. Despite my apprehension, she laid out a plan to remove it and talked me through each step, calmly and respectfully. Her compassion and skillful care made a huge difference for me.
