In the short amount of time that she cared for my dad, he felt very reassured that Trina was doing everything she can to make sure he had the best fighting chance.
My father was a patient in the MCICU for a few days. He does not speak any English. He was in unfamiliar territory, scared, and worried because he had COVID-19 and knew being in the ICU meant he was not doing well. Trina, his nurse, was exceptional. All she was missing was the superhero cape.
In the short amount of time that she cared for my dad, he felt very reassured that she was doing everything she can to make sure he had the best fighting chance. Trina acknowledged the fact that he couldn't speak English, so she was kind enough to contact his family with updates that evening. She used words instead of full sentences so that he can try to understand what she is doing and saying. She was courteous enough to provide privacy when he needed it. She is the epitome of compassion and kindness. My family will be forever grateful for the nurse and person that she is.
