Trina is very respectful of her patients and their families. She is willing to help patients complete applications for resources in the community.
Trina's love for nursing started from an early age with her Mom who was a nurse for 42 years. She was taught the importance of caring and advocating for the health and well-being of others, especially the less fortunate. Trina has been a nurse for 27 years and has a great love for nursing. She has a sense of accomplishment and pride when she is educating someone or helping them navigate a difficult cancer diagnosis. She tries to make patients feel at ease and comfortable enough with her that they understand that she will always try to help with issues and obtain resolutions to their problems.

Trina has completed a Masters in Nursing Leadership and Legal Nurse Consulting in 2016 and obtained certification in Progressive Care and Legal Nurse Consulting. She is trained as a smoking cessation counselor for the Delaware Quit Line and has worked in various specialties, including Shock-Trauma ICU, OR, Interventional Radiology, and Oncology. She was nominated for the Delaware Magazine Top Nurse in both the Ambulatory Care and Volunteerism and Service Categories for 2020 and 2021. She currently work as a Lung and Colorectal Screening Nurse Navigator for Bayhealth Medical Center in Dover, Delaware and the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS).

Trina is very active in her community. She volunteers with both of her sororities, Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta, Sorority, Inc.; and performing community outreach and education with Bayhealth Medical Center and DHSS. She is a member of various boards: the Delaware Prostate Cancer Coalition; the Sussex County Health Coalition; the IMPACT Tobacco Prevention Coalition; and the American Lung Association, Delaware Chapter.

Trina is very respectful of her patients and their families. She is willing to help patients complete applications for resources in the community. During the height of COVID, she had families reach out to her with a need for assistance with obtaining food and needing supplies. Trina has personally gone to the Food Bank of Delaware and she has brought groceries for some. She has shopped for needed supplies for families using her own resources and delivered them when transportation wasn't available.

Trina has been a member of Tau Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. for 7 years supporting the motto of "Service for Humanity". She has also been a member of the Bayhealth Cancer Institute for almost 3 years. Upon accepting the position, she and her team have developed the lung and colorectal screening program from scratch, along with implementing the smoking cessation program. Along with this, her team develop my role as a state navigator which helps to educate the community and providing resources for preventative screenings and smoking cessation. Since its development, there has been a 30% increase. This role also helped to bridge the communication gap between the hospital and state, allowing patients to have more access to available resources they may not have had. Trina has also invited her "Sigma Brothers" of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. to participate in health programs provided by Tau Eta Chapter.
