Trinity is a dedicated, extremely skilled, caring, and compassionate NICU nurse. She specializes in taking care of the most challenging and extremely fragile and ill NICU babies. She always signs up for primary patients so she has an opportunity to really get to know her patient and family, giving exceptional family-centered care. She is an active participant in rounds and care conferences and advocates for her patients, collaborating positively with her healthcare team members.
Trinity has been taking care of a NICU patient who was born very premature and then was not thriving as well with her respiratory development as we had hoped. Knowing this patient well, Trinity advocated for this patient to have a tracheostomy so this patient would be able to go home sooner with her very competent mother and family. Trinity helped arrange for a collaborative multidisciplinary care conference and the decision was made to move forward with a tracheostomy for the baby. Trinity changed her schedule so she could be with the baby and family on the day of surgery.
The baby's mother says, "Trinity is amazing. The way she advocated for my daughter and myself when I said I wanted to talk about getting a plan set up for a trach was phenomenal. She made sure all the educational materials were available and that I had all of my questions and concerns answered."
