My now-wife really wanted her mom to be at her wedding. We got news that her mom had days left to live. We decided to orchestrate a last-minute same-day wedding in the hospital room. The nurse went above and beyond doing all sorts of research, finding and contacting people who could possibly officiate the wedding, getting price quotes, etc. All on her own, without us asking her. It really helped a lot with easing our stress and making this incredibly difficult and tragic period of our lives have a happy and hopeful and flowering side plot. We are all glad that T got to be at her daughter’s wedding. It meant a lot to everyone involved.
