She had never met this veteran before as he was not on the pain clinic caseload, but she never hesitates when asked for help.
Triscia goes above and beyond to help our veterans every day, and it is really inspiring to see her continuous demonstration of the VA I Care Values. On Tuesday, a veteran was scheduled to come into our department for a chiropractor visit. His chiropractor said she would like the department RN to check him out before she saw him because it was noted in his chart that he had called in to the VA a couple of times over the weekend with complaints of shortness of breath and chest pain. He was advised to go to the emergency room, but did not. When the veteran arrived at our department, our RN was not there, so the MSA reached out to Triscia, the RN for the Pain Clinic, and asked if she would be willing to speak with the veteran and check his vitals.
As usual, Triscia was more than willing to step in and help out. She brought the vet into her office to chat and assess his vitals. She ended up having to call a MERT for the vet, and he was sent to the ER by ambulance. She spent quite a bit of her time with this vet, dropping everything she was doing for the pain clinic to make sure he received the necessary attention and care he required. This is only one of the many examples I’ve personally witnessed of Triscia stepping up to help a veteran in serious need outside the pain clinic. She had never met this veteran before as he was not on the pain clinic caseload, but she never hesitates when asked for help. Her customer service is outstanding, and she deserves commendation for her dedication to our veterans. She’s a wonderful co-worker whom everyone can always count on. She is, without a doubt, a huge asset to the PM&RS department, and we are so lucky to have her.
