We lost my grandmother in March. It was a long and slow process from trips back and forth from home, to LTCC, to ICU, back to LTCC, and back to ICU where her journey eventually ended. Trish was a part of that journey from our first night in ICU. She always focused on my grandmother and never let the drama of our family or high emotions affect her care. Even when she was intubated, she spoke to my meme like she was talking to a friend. Here we are in December, and Trish still takes the time to speak to me if she sees me and tells me how special of a lady our sweet meme was. This woman has probably seen hundreds of patients since we lost her, and yet she still holds a place in her heart for the ones who have gone.
