Trisha L. Olson, MSN, RN

I was lucky enough to have Trisha as my nurse while I was hospitalized for symptoms of my end-stage heart failure. From the minute she came in for the report, we knew she was going to be great, but we didn’t know just how great she would be. I am a young mom with two boys at home. Being in the hospital while knowing I’m living on boughten time is absolutely awful for me. Every day is a hard day, but this day was especially hard on me. Trisha assured me she was going to work her hardest to make sure she got to the bottom of what was going on with me. Her compassion and empathy were indescribable. Her bedside manner is like no other. Being a nurse myself I know how hard it is to take that special time with patients to make a connection. I know how overworked nurses are, but she never showed an ounce of hurry with me. Thinking back to how amazing she was – it brings me to tears. There is no better or more deserving nurse to receive The DAISY Award than Trisha Olson. Any patient of hers is extremely lucky to have such a knowledgeable, kind nurse. Our healthcare system needs more nurses like Trisha.
