Tristan was our primary labor and delivery nurse the night our son G was born. I'm a first-time mom, and labor and delivery and being a mom was all new to me. Tristan was so patient and so ready to educate me and my husband on anything and everything. She educated us so thoroughly and addressed all our questions and concerns. She gave us the gift of her time and being so present and attentive to our needs, making us feel like we were the only family in the whole unit. Tristan had taken care of us for a portion of the night shift prior to the shift that G was born. The next night she greeted us for her shift with handmade key chains with G's name beaded on them. Throughout my labor and delivery, she was so ready to address all our requests, was so excited for us, and so very encouraging. She knew that having photos of our son immediately after his birth was super important to me. She was so amazing, managing my care during labor. Especially while pushing and taking photos for me at all of those important moments, while also performing her amazing nursing care so that me and my husband could be present in them together. These photos are some of the most precious that I have in my life now. Tristan held my hand while pushing and was so encouraging. She provided me with so much motivation and excitement to finally meet her son and got me through one of the hardest parts of my labor. When G was born, I was a teary mess. Tristan held my hand and wiped away the running mascara on my face, congratulating me and singing Happy Birthday to our son. She made us footprints to keep, which isn't policy or required; she was just going above and beyond for us. She is truly an exceptional nurse and deserves all the things and accolades. I thought that having a baby would be special just for the fact that I was having a baby. But she made it so much more memorable, special, and wonderful than I could have ever asked for. We were so blessed by her care and kindness to us.
