After one failed major surgery [out of state] in August, we came up to the University of Chicago in October to have an even more invasive surgery with doctors that specialized in my dad's condition. We have experienced 25 days in the hospital thus far, and have recovered under the care of many nurses; but one nurse stands out in our minds as the one with the most genuine compassion. Tristan M Par was our night nurse. His gentle demeanor, combined with his very common sense wisdom, and his technical expertise gave us real hope that Dad would recover. I slept in the recliner next to my dad's bed and could hear Tristan talking with Dad as he performed the needed nursing tasks in the wee hours of the night. He sincerely cared about my dad's emotional, spiritual and physical health. His care reminded me of the way my mom and I care for my dad-with real love. Thank God for Tristan M Par.
