She treated me with care, validated my feelings, and overall made me feel incredibly safe.
I was admitted to the hospital following a routine appointment with NW Perinatal because of severe high blood pressure. A week prior, my husband and I found out that our baby was showing unexpected anomalies on his ultrasound at 28 weeks, so we’d already been under severe distress and heartache. Once admitted, I was diagnosed with severe pre-eclampsia. My husband and I were so overwhelmed and emotional, and frankly, I was terrified for myself and the baby. Tristan was my night nurse for the first few nights, and I’m not sure I would have been able to get through them without her. She treated me with care, validated my feelings, and overall made me feel incredibly safe. One of the things that stood out the most was when I ended up having to do a chest x-ray at 3am, and she went with me while my husband was sleeping. It gave me so much comfort having her there, probably more than she even knows. I’m so grateful to have had her as my nurse during one of the most difficult, stressful, and uncertain situations I’ve ever been in. She truly made a difference for my husband and me, and she deserves to be recognized for her deep medical knowledge, her patience, and her calming and caring demeanor.
