I would very much like to nominate Tristen for the DAISY Award, first for taking the time to talk with me and making a dialog at a time when I was giving up. She somehow was able to communicate to me that she had a plan for my day and my specific problems that she had been able to put together from my records. A plan that followed through the whole day and continued communicating with me my goals, my underlying health issues, and my history to form a plan of treatment that was specific to me. I was going to sign myself out of the unit. I was at a point to walk away and she was able to control my pain, my plan of treatment was made clear to me. By recognizing my history she was able to communicate with me at a time that was very crucial to my life. I’m so very grateful she took the time to relate to and recognize me. Now I have hope.
