I want to recognize a young man who sets an exemplary standard in his profession, and as a fellow caring and compassionate human being. My mother was brought to the ICU in the wee hours of the morning with a life or death situation; my family was in a panic, and out of the darkness, Troy became a shining light of comfort. He held my mother's hand as he spoke to her and the family. He spoke slowly and calmly so to not overload the family with answers. His bedside manner and demeanor were amazing and I felt peace and comfort with Troy attending to my mother.
He told us a little about himself and took the time to get to know us, showing great compassion. Watching him at his work, his nursing work, he showed professionalism and accuracy. His smile was very calming to us all. I truly believe that Troy has a passion for his career and he has set new standards in his field. He is second to none in the ICU.
