I was a patient of Nurse Trudy in the Cardio ward on 4 Lasko. I would like to commend Nurse Trudy for her compassion, reliability and effort beyond her normal caring duties. She eased a stressful situation for my wife and me during my recent stay for surgery at CCH.
My wife and I were bereaved because of the passing of my brother on the same day as my admission to the hospital. The funeral was to occur near the day of my surgery. My wife and I agreed that, at least, she would represent me at the funeral. As the operation time approached, the two events seemed to coincide. My wife, understandably, wanted to be present for the operation as well.
We explained this to Nurse Trudy. Through her compassion, initiative and perseverance she instigated changing the surgery to the day before the funeral. She stepped forward and went beyond her routine responsibilities to rescue us from considerable anxiety.
Nurse Trudy is a credit and a shining example of Nursing at the Chester County Hospital and within the Penn Medicine family.
