Nursing knows no borders. My husband passed away unexpectedly on a Sunday evening. I called Trudy to say I wouldn't be in on Monday. When I came out of the trauma room going to the family grieving room, Trudy was standing there. I didn't ask her to come. Her presence was there. The support unbounded. She stayed with me for 2 hours helping me with decisions: autopsy, tissue donation, contacting family. I just melted with tears on sight of her. I have not forgotten this caring and support which carried me through the acute grief. She is deserving of a DASY Award.
