Today a patient needed emergency open heart. He was scared and so was his girlfriend. Trudy educated them about the surgery, and post op care. More importantly, she called pastoral care and had the pastor come over to the cath lab to pray with the patient's family. Praying with them patient and family gave them comfort and peace as the patient was going to open heart surgery. Trudy is a hard worker and very knowledgeable, but she also does well at educating staff and patients and families. To offer prayer for a scared patient is very caring.
