My story started when I was booked for an operation to remove endometriosis that was blocking the colon. I was admitted on  December 7th of 2023, to Mediclinic Kloof in Erasmuskloof. The operation went well, but then I started to have severe complications on December 21st of 2023. I had a life-threatening situation and had to undergo an emergency operation.

This was a hectic time for me and my husband, and I was in the hospital for 29 days over the festive season. During this time, I met nurse Daphney Khoza. I was very emotional, especially having a massive wound and a stoma, and going through all this pain. There were many times when I cried myself to sleep and was very depressed.

But when Daphney was on duty, she checked in on me, she held my hand, she prayed for me, she encouraged me to stay strong. She even took my cell number and will to this day just check in to see if I am okay. She has been an angel. I had to undergo surgery again in July, and Daphney was there.

Thank you, Tsakane D, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
