Tshepo always demonstrates compassion; he is easily the most calming and compassionate energy we have encountered. Tshepo not only looks after his caseload of patients living in the community, comprised of our most challenging patients to track down and deliver depots, but he handles these with admirable ease and composure. The area we operate in offers unique challenges with a high crime rate, so Tshepo operates using the buses to offer home visits to all patients who feel unsafe coming into the base, often spending the day on bus routes all over the city to visit a number of patients. He balances these with equally challenging duty calls, during which we have witnessed him remain compassionate, calm, and composed in the face of very distressed patients. One that comes to mind is a difficult case with an Autistic patient whose medical appointment was cancelled last-minute, meaning she was not followed up in four weeks as the letter stated. Tshepo worked tirelessly and very compassionately to not only help calm and reassure the patient, but also to follow up and ensure she had the appointment rebooked in a timely manner - this required a lot of following up, even on his non-duty days. Tshepo always ensures the best care for his patients, staying overtime when needed to get requests for weekend/OOH support in place, without complaining, as he evidently cares for every patient. It is clear how much Tshepo cares not only for his patients but also for his colleagues; he is always the first to offer support where he can. If you come into our office, you will immediately know who Tshepo is, not because he's the only male, but because the aura of care and compassion he gives off is unique only to him. He absolutely deserves this award, in a manner completely beyond my ability to articulate.
