We had a patient on the SSU who had recently lost their home. The patient and her family were living in a motel and facing multiple financial and health hardships. Tura treated this patient and her family like the one she loved the most by paying for their motel stay for a week and donating money to help get them food. Tura along with other staff members also donated clothing and other personal items to the family.

Tura is selfless. One night when we were very busy I became suddenly ill. It was early in the shift. Tura was charge nurse on SSU and heard that I had become ill. Her relief charge nurse had patients but took over as charge on SSU and Tura came to PCU and took over charge for me. This is the epitome of selflessness on her part and compassion for her co-workers.

One day I was charge nurse on U400 and had six patients. Tura heard about my situation and came to my unit to help me pass out my medications and help with patient care.
