I am the wife of a patient who passed away from septic shock. You saved his life the night before. I am writing to thank you for your love, care, compassion, and respect for my husband, and also for your curiosity on that night that landed you in my husband's room after a rapid response call was made. I will never forget you walking into our room and taking charge of the situation. All eyes were on you. The authority you carried was evident. You had complete peace and confidence. And your eyes were glued precisely where they needed to be; on my sweet husband, the patient. And you got him back. If my sweetheart were here right now, he would want to thank you for all that you did for him, and all that you did for me. As his wife, and as a fellow believer, I have absolutely no doubt that God purposed you to be there, to save his life, to cradle my heart, listen, encourage, and give perspective and hope. The medical field needs you, Twila. They need what you carry. They need your knowledge, your wisdom, your discernment. But most of all, they need the hope you carry. I want to encourage you that you are here “for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14). You are anointed to do what you do. Thank you for giving me another 24 hours with my sweetheart.
