Ty did her own research and asked around, came up with alternate plans, and searched the hospital for supplies.
Ty was so compassionate, caring, and gentle with my grandmother. She took the time to gain my trust (her granddaughter) allowed me to be an active part of her care and advocated for her with multiple care plan changes. My grandmother and I enjoyed sharing stories and pictures with her and getting to know her. I especially appreciate her going above and beyond with care. We’ve spent so much time dressing her bruises and skin tears, and Ty did her own research and asked around, came up with alternate plans, and searched the hospital for supplies. My grandmother has such fragile skin and almost any assisted movement causes a new painful skin tear. Ty was so gentle and caring to make sure my grandmother didn’t get any new skin tears. Ty was also so encouraging and patient with multiple assist transfers throughout the day. I know it is so important to have early mobilization but it’s difficult for us. Ty spent so much time helping us safely move and transfer. I also can’t speak enough about how great Ty was with me. Ty asked me questions to get to know me as soon as I arrived for the day and kept me updated and checked in on us throughout the day. We’ve had a stressful experience as a family and were rattled and worried about my grandmother. As a medical student, I know how thinly stretched and exhausted our nurses are right now. I am so much more comfortable knowing how my grandmother is being cared for after seeing Ty today. From my conversation with Ty, I know the exceptional care we received is how she treats all her patients every day and she goes above and beyond at every chance she can.
