My grandson was a patient in the PICU until his death. During these difficult 10 days, our favorite RN was Tyler. He demonstrated a caring and empathic attitude and made our difficult situation as bearable as it could be. He was so skilled at listening to our family's concerns, soothing our worries and formed an ultimate bond between our family and himself. He was compassionate and provided strength in our time of weakness. It was obvious that he saw our N as the patient, not an object filled with tubes and wires. He saw N as someone who could be his son and cared for him as if it were so. He listened carefully to our entire family and we knew he cared about our pain. He had a passion for excellence and a profound depth of understanding. He hugged us and cried with us when N passed away. He did everything possible to make sure N was comfortable and not in pain, nor struggling, when he was dying. I hope we never have to visit the ICU again, but if we do, we would definitely want Tyler by our side! Thank you, Tyler, for your compassion and care of our precious N!
